Orcas Island Health Care District Temporary Levy Results - Thank You to Our Community

Orcas Community:

Thank you for your strong support of the healthcare district's temporary levy lid request. As of Wednesday evening, the provisional results show it passing 61 to 39 with over 1,900 ballots counted. An official certification is expected next week.

More information is available at the county election results website (https://results.vote.wa.gov/results/20250422/sanjuan/).

As a reminder, we intend to use this resource to maintain current operations, enhance our facilities, and expand primary care services.

Information on the levy request will continue to be found on our website (https://www.orcashealth.org/sustainable-community-based-care)

We made four commitments to the community in our town hall meetings:

1. Accountability to our community and to innovate to manage healthcare spending

2. Proactive planning and community engagement

3. Fiscal stewardship of public dollars

4. Scope to remain focused on primary care

Consistent with these commitments, in addition to our public meetings, we will be seeking additional community volunteers to participate in the important work ahead.

If you are interested in participating in our facility design or new primary care service work sessions, please reach out to Chris Chord, Superintendent - chrisc@orcashealth.org or (360)317-3545.

Thank You Orcas Islanders! Your commitment to health is inspiring and we take the hard work ahead very seriously.
